Building another server for my home, i currently have a server running Win. Server 03 for my domain, on 4 of my desktops, and a Linux server. (All are rack mounted in my data cabinet.) Now I'm going to do a cheap build to throw Windows home Server onto, for auto backups for my main builds. I have decided to use an AMD processor and mobo for this build. But I've never really used AMD so i need help on deciding what processor goes with the mobo i have chosen. I like this board, because it fits in the price range i want, and because it has only the connections i need.
Board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813135240 CPU: ??? Case: Old Cisco 4U i have lying around (mobo and cpu took dump.) PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817255012 RAM 2GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211363 CD: Not needed, will use remote cd. GPU: Will use one lying around, not stressing anything big. HDD main storage 2x: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073 HDD for OS: 80gb ide WD Black i have still sealed. External HDD for picture backups: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817106103 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136075 -OR- go refurbished http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136412 ~~I get all of the internal drives cheaper from my buddy who owns a pc repair shop. Just wanted to shall yall which ones i was going to get.~~ So does it look good enough? What is the Correct and Cheapest CPU for that mobo? i tried looking, and just got hella confused. Thanks for your help!

According to the "Which motherboard is the worst" thread, ECS is definitely a board you should stray away from.
I don't know enough about AMD to recommend a processor, though. Sorry! Good luck with the build!

Absolutely get a better PSU... this rig will be running 24/7/365 and you don't want to risk damage.
Any cheap AMD CPU will do... Sempron 140 is a good choice now. A discrete GPU is not needed.

Do you have anything against mATX? Also, open box items? There's a OB Asus on the Egg for like $40.

I don't think miniATX is any more prone to overheating. Also, whenever you do decide to purchase, just make sure to check open box items. There are usually some great ones!
