a serious suggestion, your friend would benefit SO much by saving ~$75-$100 more. he could get a 5770, and a better CPU like an E7x00 series. (if you go intel)

I've used it before in a different friend's build and it's powering a HD4850 + Q6700 quite well.

Says 3.5", but I agree, it looks like a mobile hard drive in the picture.
If you can get a $29 psu that you trust I say go for it then you can upgrade the graphics to a 1gb 4870 or maybe even a 4890

i got everything minus the PSU as a package deal from newegg, saved 50 bucks total, ill try to find the link for you, but i think with case my build was about 370 total, so that still leaves you for a nice GPU if you dont want to do on board graphics

It's a 3.5" drive. It's the same size as my 500GB 7200.12. They are just thinner drives because they're single platter. They take up less space and produce less heat. The 500GB 7200.12 is also $54.99 on the egg at the moment.

Here's what I got. I don't think the CPU will bottleneck the vidcard. Very good hard drive, RAM has tight timings, and the power supply is a Corsair.
