Go with an OCZ psu if you want a bigger GPU.
+ $100 for ram.

Nice looking combo though, I'm checking it out now.

4. Upgrade to the X3 720 for the proc

My Suggestions:
AMD X3 720 proc @ 119.99
Gigabyte UD3P @ 79.99
4GB of G-Skill RAM @ 80
(2) 250 GB HD's and just make several partitions to fit your needs
Sapphire Jupier XT 5770 @ 174.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341019
^ good power supply 700W for 75$ with a good MIRB that puts it to your 50$ suggestion

And as for the case, you can get a very good one for 40-55

Guestimation for price total would be just under the 600$ build and it's very solid
Well, I slash the Blu Ray and I've got enough to upgrade the CPU and PSU and keep the same MOBO.....

2 HDD's are fine, that's what I was leaning towards anyway.

Just saw that at Best Buy today, same price.

Not bad looking.

I'm actually leaning towards the tech station, but haven't really looked too much into the case. Any other suggestions? I would like at least some acrylic.

About the 5770, I've been a consoler my whole life, and it will most likely stay that way, so I'm not up on GPU stuff. When talking 5770, are we talking cutting edge games on high performance?

The problem with acrylic is that it cracks and scratches easily.

5770 is very fast and much faster than the 4650 you were thinking about. For ATI, only the 5850 and 5870 are faster but they cost more. Nvidia cards are kind of overpriced at the moment as they have not released their newest design yet.

Just looking at prices, 5770 it will be, the 4650 with 1G ddr3 is almost the same price, might as well go with the 5770. Any common consensus on brand?

No opinions on Asus v. Gigabyte?

I figured that would be the most discussed!

The shopping listv2....

Rosewill R604-P BK 120mm Fan ATX Mid
Asus EVO AM3 790X - open box
Saphire ATI HD 5770 1GB Juniper XT
AMD Athlon II x4 2.6GHz
G.Skill 2x2 DDR3 1600WD Caviar Blue 7200 320gb
Sony DVD/RW SATA
OCZ 700w stealth

Total is at $676, no bad for 2 HDD's, nice mobo and quad cpu. I'm not to thrilled about the case, but I don't really want to spend too much for something that's made in China just like the cheap cases. I am wondering about the open box mobo, should I opt out of that or is it legit?

Would like to trim it down to $600 if at all possible, I could easily drop down a level on the video card and drop a HDD. Other then that..... I don't know. Maybe find a few comdos?
