Cool YEAH! ave a butchers at my new system

I got most of the compenents from scan and overclockers and im wiating on new speakers and keyboard/mouse.

I know its not the most tidy setup but there not much you can do. the UV coolsleeves i brought didn't fit very well so ill have to get more kit lata to bling it out.

Origionally i had it at 2.8 but there was prime 95 instability's and windows eventually corrupted, although i think with was purely down to my settings in the bios. i reakon i could get 2.8 stable if i persisted.

I really wished i had photographed the whole process and made a guide on how to fit a Artic cooling X1 to my 7800gt.
If anyone has any questions il'd be glad to help.

Have you thrown on a memory divider to see if you can push your processor a little higher? I know you have PC4000 and it should be able to reach that type of HTT, but PC4000 does not overclock like PC3200. Windows corruption is typically a memory issue and instability is many times being plagued by memory also.

I was looking into one of those Artic Coolers and I was a little concerned about the fan being directed straight at my memory. I have a similar memory configuration with my motherboard and I was wondering if you have any issues and if I have anything to be concerned about? Can it possibly be directed downward instead of up?

That plastic sleeving not being wrapped tight to avoid gaps is doing more to constrict your airflow then if they were just bare wires. Either close those gaps up or just remove that stuff.

ive got my mem devider set at 333mhz which means at a 270HTT my mem is at 452mhz and is stable i have 3x 120mm quiet fans and 1 80mm at the bottom and my case temps are at 28-31 under load on a normal day.

the freezer pro is a little close to the ram but its fine, the airflow is IN (bottom and front) OUT (top and top-rear with a 120mm amber fan modded to a 120-80 uv adapter) the freezer pro takes air passing the mem and pushes is out the back. as for your DFI mobo the freezer pro is so high that it will clear any ram in its exhaust so it should be fine as its is well clear of my mushkin units and they have big heat speaders on them.

my cpu temp are 39idle - 44load max.

as the the artic cooling X1 on my 7800gt the instructions weren't very clear becuase there is 2 types of the card (ones with memory on the back or front of the card) and with this fitted the load temps are 56c max when ocerclocked from 400/900 to 490/1100 and its near silent. This is the most imprassive bit of kit becuase the reference cooler sounds like a fatman on the tiolet.

I did buy some UV cool sleaves to tidy up everything but they didn't fit very well to for the time being i had to use these things, ill get some stuff latter to make it more aerodynamic.

do you think i should lower my mem/divider to 266 and up the cpu to 2.8-9?

If you are running a divider and that memory is 25MHz below its designed frequency then you should be fine with that divider. You may be having some other issue with your memory. Have you ran MemTest86+ to see if you memory is error free with your current configuration? I imagine it is some sort of timing or command rate issue. If you run it and you get errors on test 5 and 8 you will most likely change your command rate for your memory to 2T instead of the 1T it is set to. I am guessing that you have it on 1T. Just another thought.
