I couldn't find any articles about it, but that does seem a little low, especialy if it outperforms a 920, which costs about $230.

The 925 and 915 are clocked at 3.0GHz and 2.8GHz, respectively. Both contain twin 2MB L2 caches, run over an 800MHz frontside bus and support 64-bit addressing. In addition to VT, they don't feature Enhanced SpeedStep - both technologies are present in higher-end 9xx-class Pentium Ds.

Quote:
Intel will debut the VT-less Pentium D 925 at $178.
Neither VT or Enhanced SpeedStep are useful. SpeedStep slows down your processor when it thinks that you don't want full power. I have it disabled!

All Preslers are having huge price drops Monday, with the release of the 960 and 965.

Quote:
By the time the 960 launches, the 950 will have been re-priced at $316 - a reduction of 50.3 per cent. The 23 April price cuts alleged by the Taiwanese sources will see the 940's price fall from $423 to $241, a reduction of 43 per cent; the 930 will drop to $209 from $316, down 33.9 per cent; and the 920 will also end up priced at $209, 13.3 per cent below its current price, $241. All prices are per processor when sold in batches of 1000 CPUs.

hmm but i hear the D 9xx series dont stand up there with AMD in Gaming Forsure, but Price\Preformance the D9xx series will win in the price cut i guess, but still if you want gaming wise re-think that.

That is a pretty powerful CPU. You will be able to overclock to about 4.3-4.5Ghz on the processer, at 4.2Ghz a Pentium D matches a FX60....
I like this one... this would be the nicest for an Intel Build, unless you'd liket to wait for Conroe.

Yes, I second that. It is THE best performance per dollar you will get.
