Default MY first Build

I want to build my own pc and put linux on it but i just want a really cheap one already have a keyboard mouse and monitor so all i wan is just a basic tower with all the parts except i want to assemble it. Dose anyone now any wher ethat dose that in australia new south wales?

Um no intense gaming something cheap as its my first something to put linux on and fiddle around with. less than 500 dollars australian would be awesome less then 400 would be totally awesome :P

well 400 AUD is about 300 US. Not much to work with but here's a barebone that will give you an idea of the hardware you'll be shopping for.

its going to be very hard to buy the parts individually that cheap ot put together once you ge to the sub 500$ mark its cheaper to buy it all put together in some basic system. I know we have alot of aussies here in this forums who might be able to tell you the cheapest place to get parts.

EDIT: Ive found this deal to be the best so far http://www.atcomputer.com.au/special.php?id=5 i can get the 2800 with the system for 480 dollars as i dont need a keyboard/mouse and speakers. THe dvd drive it comes with is dual layer so that s a plus .

Sorry for the double post. I jsut spoke to the people and they said that the 2800+ is socket 472 dose that sound right i cant seem to find the motherboard that comes with it in 472 and also what would be a good cooler for this cpu as i wanna try and over clock it it would b my first time O/C a cou aswell
