My brother is soon moving to an appartement and wants a pc. My father thinks about buying a crappy Dell so I gotta do fast and find a better build for the same price (shouldn't be really hard).
Here's the Dell build: -Intel P4 3.0Ghz HT -512mb PC3200 400MHZ DDR ram -Samsung DVD-R/RW -Integrated sounds & video :S -17" LCD -KB + optical mouse -XP -Stereo ( -Printer -80Gb ATA 100 Hard Drive -Floppy -Unknown mobo

that looks like a good build. You can get a good Nf4 ultra DFI infinity board for probably a bit cheaper off newegg.
if you need the sims 2 I'm selling it

Just my 2 cents worth: Buy the Dell. Now, before you all flame my to high heaven, let me explain. For anything less then a XPS, Dell will be cheaper. Affter you factor in the monitor, OS, shipping and everything, Dell comes out on top. Also, with Dell if something breaks, they send you a new one for free next day! Try that from newegg.

You have a point SoaDMTGguy.
Dell's are reliable, not gaming as much, but for everything else they work. I hate my Dell cuz it's a gutless POS from 2002. However, Dell has made some decent gaming rigs. The problem is, you won't find a Dell with great specs for $800. Their higher end rigs are around $1500.

Is it possible to change a mobo inside a Dell without too much tweaking?
