definitely get a different CPU. 3700+ for single core or the 165 that you mentioned are great alternatives.

Also, if you dead set on watercooling, custom build your own setup instead of a prebuilt one. It'll work a lot better.

Scratch the WC, get an Opteron 170, get one ATI graphics card or SLI (crossfire/SLI is bull**** anyway), and get a DFI Expert. Water cooling can be improvised at frozencpu.com.

If you want to have two x1900xts in Crossfire you need one of them to be a Crossfire master card like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127208

Also I would go with the 3700+ instead of a 4000+ as they are known to be finicky overclockers and the 3700+ is easily capable of being taken as high if not higher than a 4000+

Yes, you need a master x1900CF card and an x1900XT/X, you cant just throw two x1900's together like SLI!
Actually, most 4000 SD's use the same steppings as the 3700's, well, at least the older 3700's...
I would go for the WC and get a 3700 though, some of the newer steppings should get to (at most) 3.1GHz with WC.

Also you should probably scratch the 10,000 rpm hdd as they are not really much faster than the regular hdd the have 16mb caches. So just get one of those instead or you could buy to and put them in raid for added speed.

I would actualy go Intel and get a 930. They run about $220 and overclock over 4.5 GHz on water. At that speed they out perform an FX-60, even overclocked! Also, its dual-core for half the price your paying for your single core AMD chip. Just my

Correction: the motherboard he picked is a Radeon xPress3200 board, which support full double CI-E x16 speeds in Crossfire, WITHOUT the need of a 'Special Edition' Crossfire card. These boards are brand new, and developed in part to eliminate the use of such Crossfire card!

I do believe that it will only work properly after release of Catalyst 6.5

Also, if you want the Crossfire setup, pick a beefier PSU. The NUUO is great, but just doesn't deliver enough juice for this kind of setup. Look into the FSP 700W version as a good option (I know...it's $100 more, but you'll need the power): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104015

EDIT: I agree... the Raptor is not worth it. Get a 250 GB hard drive with 16MB Cache, for around $100

IMO you can't afford a CF setup. Get some nicer core components and get one X1900XTX. It'll play anything out today.
