price comes about 740 but im going to use this the most , i dont want to use my fx now as in using it for my primary ring my fx57 rig will be for gaming , but this opteron 165 will be for everyday and gaming on world of warcraft and cs. i need feedbacks from you 165 owners i appreciate it

It runs like a champ!

Easy to get it up there too, actually. Just that the ram doesnt like 1:1...but I'm sure you knew that already.

It's great for gaming as well, since all the new drivers are dual core aware. You'll really love the rig. The 165 is the best bang for the buck out right now.

I just ordred my 165 and It should get here tuesday. I have a final til 10 pm, but after then im gonona oc that beast as far as it will go.

I'd sub out the OCZ power supply and get a Nuuo to save money. Also, there's an A8N5X at Newegg on refurb for $49. With both those savings, beef up your video card or increase the ram to 2 gbs. Just some options, I build these types of machines often for myself and others.

Yes, I use msn...but I can't PM you. I'm pretty sure it's in my profile...

Anyways...about the "3000+" thing...

Once you overclock it, it performs VERY well. Mine's the equivalent of an FX-60 right now....so I wouldn't say it's a slouch. I get 110+ FPS in HL2 with all max at 1600x1200, so it's not junk in gaming either...

Yeah, its hardly junk for gaming. Unless you think the FX-60 is not good for much of anything.

Ha!! thanks, I just came up with that the other day!
Actually thats the reason for the dual psu, I'm going to give peltier cooling a try. Soon as I get my watercooling off the ground.
