Alright so fill me in.What is the performance differances in the Operaton 2218 Santa Rosa 2.6 to the AMD FX-62 Windsor 2.8?Which would be better in a performance setting?

Unknown to me, considering there both 1207 pin CPU for true server application who knows!

The FX-62 would win just due to the slight speed advantage. Because as far as I know there are no architecture differences.

Those Optys he asks about are the new 1207 pin, not the 940 New AM2 Optys. So if by some odd chance someone had a 1207 pin "true" server MB, cant it even OC?

2218 is socket F. 1218 is AM2. I would say the FX-62 would be better, isn't it cheaper and unlocked too? There has been no news of how well the Opterons oc nowadays since they are more expensive now.

I think he means oced since those 6400 are able to get 80% ocs. At stock the e6400 is only like 10% slower.
