Alright here is my deal. I truly don't understand why everyone makes a big deal out of 939 Optys. I am not trying to be arguementative here truly i am not. That being said it seems to me that the AM2 Optys overclock just as well maybe better,am i biased damn right i am but take this in consideration.

Am i lonley, yes. Do i think others should consider the AM2 Optys absolutely! If i can acheive this with my horrid setup imagine what could be done with a sweet one? No horn tooting here honestly it just seems to me that well...939 nice for nostalgia but maybe time to think about future proofing in light of the performance recorded for the AM2 Optys (not just mine there are others on HWBOT,ripping.org,AMDGeeks and so on that support this).

This was the point is was trying to make, why do so many people still buy 939 Optys when (and i am not trying to make a direct comparison other than that the AM2 Santa Anas are on par with some of the best steppimg Denmarks as far as overclocking goes) when you are relagating yourself too obsolescence by doing so? I am not trying to say the AM2 Optys are superior rather than are they again on at the least on par with the 939's and have the advantage of not being installed into a soon to be dead socket.... In other words I see nothing too gain from buying a Denmark 165 or 170 as opposed too a 1210 or 1212 and a lot to gain by choosing the 1210 or 1212 i.e. future proofing yourself with an AM2 mobo. How many ways do i have to say it? I will let my HWBOT speak for itself as far as benchmarks go.

Well when I said there was nothing special about AM2 I was getting at the fact that AM2 is barely an improvement on architecture other than the memory controller. I know you were not debating that, however I felt it prudent to mention it.
AM2 may indeed be on par with 939 opties. However that is still not much of a reason to go AM2. Yes you get the added speeds of DDR2 however that is all you obtain. AM2 was AMD's socket to get a foothold into the DDR2 standards...it was created simply to keep up with Intel and C2D...lets face it Now as AM2 architecture offers very little over 939 there isn't much of a ''Push factor'' to go to AM2....AM3 and K10 now thats a different story all together. With Intel users there was a large pushing factor to move from Intel P4 and Dual core to C2D because C2D was a completely new architecture all together. C2D did not only incorperate DDR2 standards but the architecture was completely different or atleast vastly improved on compared to P4. Not only that but C2D was 65nm. Overall what im trying to say is that with AM2 and 939 there really isnt much difference so the push factor to get AM2 is very little...well atleast in my eyes. However in comparision to the Intel story this is very different. Dont worry I do see what you are saying and its a valid point so please dont think im bashing or anything. I was just stating a point alongside yours !.
