Default Temp readings

First want to say I am new to overclock.net. I like what I see here and everyone seems very helpful.

Ok here is my Question. I have a AMD Athlon 2600+ (Thoroughbred). MOB is a ASRock K7VM2, Chipset is VIA (VT8375). I am running Hmonitor and the temp are showing 63C at idle and running full load shows 64c. I checked the Bios and it shows the same. The vcore is 1.7. I am not OCing. I bought a swiftech heatsink with a 80mm fan. The case itself is vented well, 3 80mm side fans, one of them is actually over the processor fan blowing out. 1 80mm fan blowing from the back and 1 80mm on front blowing in. The case inside itself is running at norm temps. I have updated to the latest Bios. All setting are auto in Bios. I have not had any issues with pc locking up, can play games fine.

1 Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
2 Is it just a false reading?
3 Can something cause it to be running with high temps?

Thank you

Hi

I have the same problem with athlon 64 my idle is 45c load is 60c there seems to be lots of false readings with amd chips. I have looked on the amd website and MSI website lots of people are reporting false readings. If your system is running ok why worry.

Bios Shows it to be the same. I have the latest Bios update and haved switch to different power supply. The MOB supports up to a 2800 but when I first got the board it had a 2100 but I never did run a Temp Monitor.
