only the FX-63, 65, & 67 need to be announced before AMD gets to the FX-69! dude , if they make that processor I'm going to have to buy it no matter how much it costs, just to tell everyone hey I have a FX-SIXTY NINE MAN!!! btw, this thread RULES. I look at it way too much

im gonna get myself a 5000+......but now i gotta friggin wait till next year, but it will be worth it, oh yes, it will be worth it. i think that they should hav a roadmap for socket F(1207) along with their m2 roadmap.

he couldnt find the venice core on the roadmap, but its there...hidden under another core (winchester)

whats this name thing? winchester? newcastle? i bought my amd athlon 64 3000+ (socket 939) in the box at compusa (shrug) theres no newcastle or winchester name on the box its from AMD, no other name but AMD.

im new to overclocking, so bare with me please. Heh.

also new to amd.. always had pentium processors.

Welcome to the forum!
The names Newcastle, Winchester, Venice etc, are AMD codename's for the processors core. To find out what you have, download CPU-Z and look under the ''Code Name'' bit.

it says its a venice code name, but in that list/link for socket 939 athlon 64's there is no venice listed. well i see A venice, but its a 90nm, mine shows a 0.09 (and that little "u" looking icon) technology

i dunno what to say as far as my new motherboard either. its the GA-k8NSC-939 (gigabyte), its not even listed in the supported mobos for motherboard monitor 5, dunno if that means anything bad? i just bought it and the cpu, so being old would confuse me, unless compusa scammed me(wouldnt know)
