Post AMD CPU Codes for "Socket A", multipliers, and voltages

Here’s a list of Athlon XP and Athlon 64 cores:

http://www.overclock.net/showthread.php?t=168

Make sure your motherboard's official web site supports the CPU core before upgrading.

ATHLON XP:

If you see DMT3C printed on the Athlon XP core, that’s a Palomino.
They do not overclock as well as other Athlon XP cores.

Thoroughbred A's average 2.0 GHz while Thoroughbred B's, Thortons and desktop Bartons average 2.3 GHz [2.5 GHz or more for mobile Bartons] but the overclock will depend on mobo, RAM, cooling and power supply brand and not simply the number of "watts" it has.

Example code: AXDA2100DUT3C AIUHB 0248MPMW
0248 stands for 2002 week 48

See the example code where it says AIUHB above?

T-Bred A's have a stepping code which ends in "A": xxxxA are T-Bred A's

T-Bred B's have a stepping code which ends in "B": xxxxB are T-Bred B's

That's why the last letter of the stepping code is important.

Don’t confuse that with the first part where it says something like DUT3C because that’s the ordering part number (OPN) not the stepping code.

For example DLT3C or DUT3C is not enough as it can be A or B for some of them:

1600+: DLT3C T-Bred A; | DLT3C & DUT3C T-Bred B
1700+: DLT3C T-Bred A; | DLT3C & DUT3C T-Bred B
1800+: DLT3C T-Bred A; | DLT3C & DUT3C T-Bred B
1900+: DLT3C T-Bred A; | DLT3C & DUT3C T-Bred B

2000+: DKT3C T-Bred A; | DUT3C could be either a T-Bred A or T-Bred B
The only way to distinguish between the two is by the stepping code last letter (A or B).
except if the second letter of the code is Q -- then it's a Thorton.

Remember again what a stepping code is by looking at that example code where it says AIUHB above?
T-Bred A's have a stepping code which ends in "A": xxxxA are T-Bred A's
T-Bred B's have a stepping code which ends in "B": xxxxB are T-Bred B's

2100+: DUT3C could be either a T-Bred A or T-Bred B
The only way to distinguish between the two is by the stepping code last letter (A or B).

2200+: DKV3C T-Bred A; | DUV3C T-Bred B
except if the second letter of the code is Q -- then it's a Thorton.

2300+: There are no 2300+ (!) Some companies marketed 2400+'s as 2300+'s

2400+: All 2400+s are T-Bred B's (no A's). DKV3C and DUT3C are both T-Bred B's
except if the second letter of the code is Q -- then it's a Thorton.

2500+: are all Bartons. Second letter of the code is Q

2600+: DKV3C [133] x 16 = 2133 MHz T-Bred B, Last letter of the code is B or
DKV3D [166] x 12.5 = 2083 MHz T-Bred B, Last letter of the code is B
except if the second letter of the code is Q -- then it's a DKV3D Thorton. or

DKV4D [166] x 11.5 = 1917 MHz Barton, Second letter of the code is Q

2700+: are all DKV3D Thoroughbred B's (No A's, no Bartons).

2800+: DKV4D [166] x 12.5 Barton with second letter of the code being Q or
DKV3D [166] x 13.5 T-Bred B with last letter of the code being B (rarely seen).

3000+: DKV4D [166] x 13 Barton or
DKV4E [200] x 10.5 Barton

3200+: DKV4D [166] x 14 Barton or
DKV4E [200] x 11 Barton

MHZ speed = [FSB] x multiplier

You can't tell the difference between multiplier locked and unlocked new chips with a naked eye or through codes.

The best we have is:

• All 2003 weeks 43 to 46 Bartons and Thoroughbreds are locked.

• Some weeks 35 to 43 are locked, some are not, and that includes Thoroughbreds, Thortons and Durons.

• There are rare cases of post 2003 week 46 unlocked Bartons and Durons.

ATHLON 64:

Athlon 64's are multiplier unlocked from default multiplier down only.

(New Athlon64 steppings have AT, AR and AX at the end like: ADA FX51 CEP5AT, ADA 3200 AEP5AR, ADA 3200 AEP5AX).
Old ones had AP like this:

ADA3000AEP4AP
ADA3200AEP5AP
ADA3400AEP5AP

6 = 2MB cache
5 = 1MB cache
4 = 512KB cache
3 = 256KB cache

L2 Cache - memory used by processor to store frequently used instructions.
Front Side Bus - speed of communication between the microprocessor and the chipset.

Default More info!

Identifying Which Core You Have

You can tell which core you have just by looking at your CPU. However, you can also find out which core you have w/ out even unmounting your heatsink/waterblock!

1) Download WCPUID, or CPU-Z.
2) Run the program.
3) Look for where it gives you the model #. Model 10 = Barton; Model 8 = Thoroughbred; Model 6 = Palomino; Model 4 = Thunderbird.
4) If you have a Thoroughbred, look at the Stepping ID. 0 = T-bred A; 1 = T-bred B.

CPU Overclockage DataBases

Below are a couple of CPU databases. Put in a given CPU type/speed, and see what others have overclocked them to. NOTE: The clock speeds quoted in a database may be exaggerate. Don't assume you will be able to overclock your chip to the same level. Also take into account the cooling, power supply quality, and the other components involved.

VR-Zone CPU Database
Overclockers.com CPU Database

I will get some pics posted of each core at some point. Feel free to email me some good pics of your XP. If you have any suggestions for this thread let us know know.

Question A64 3200+, Clawhammer

I just wanted to verify. My A64 3200+, 2.0 GHZ, has a multiplier of 10 and its locked for all values above 10?

well say you have memory that will do 600MHz, and you have a 3000 that will do oh..let's say 2.7 just to make it easy, well instead of running 270x10, you could run 300x9 to get the most out of your memory

Dont forget to balance your hypertransport or it might not post

HT - 1000Mhz = 200FSBx5 ...so 800 = FSBx4 and 600Mhz = FSBx3 try to keep under your HT Max Mhz

Socket 754 300x4 is very possible at least on my board it is. I believe my Hyper-Transport is at 920MHz or 1840MHz effective
