Question Please help me overclock a Sempron 2600+

My Sempron 2600+(1604Mhz) Socket 754 can't go over 2016 mhz...every tme i push it further it hangs ...cand somebody tell me what to do??...i have to say that CPU-Z tells me that at 2016Mhz my HT is at 1000Mhz...with the default multiplyer...HELP PLEASE!!!

try reducing your memory speed - memory generally doesnt OC very well and your computer wont start if it is pushed too far

You mean that i should lower my DDRAM speed?it's set on DDR400--200Mhz right now??shuld i put it to 333??

yes.

as you increase your FSB you not only increase your CPU speed, but your RAm speed as well. your RAM is probably running around 220mhz right now which it was not designed to do. Turn it down to DDR333, as you continue your overclock the RAM speed will come back up to DDR400. If you overclock even more once it gets back to 200mhz, bring it down to DDR266 speed. CPU_Z shows you your RAM speed in the memory tab

Well i've done it!Right now i'm on 2086Mhz it's not much more...but i wonder why?i've lowered my memory to 333...and the max i got was 2086...when i set it on 266 same...
even if i overvoltaged my memory or(and) HT core same...only 2086...

have you increased your core voltage? It does seem quite low to be the chips max

EDIT: noticed ur on stock cooling so be careful with any vcore increase

i am on stock cooling but still i'm pretty confident with it i think it's pretty good in about 1,5hours of playing Oblivion at 2000Mhz it did not passed 34 degrees celsius
