Got my AMD Mobile 4000 chip to stabilize at just over 3.0ghz 2 hour OCCT Stable small fft's. This board is kind of special as it is one of the rare sli boards that were made for socket 754. So of course I had to fill up thos pcie slots! I put some 9600 gso's and OC'ed them to 650mhz core, 1625mhz shader, and 900 on the memory. I can load into windows at 3.1 but it blue screens pretty quick but I still have a bit of room I'm sitting around 1.53vcore right now. I've heard of these making it to a range of 3.2 - 3.4 but we will see!

Thanks I've currently got those 9600gso's up and folding doing around 8000ppd. Will post some 3dmark benches in a day or so .

Got my WC'ing going and managed to get this right from the start. By no means am I done testing and tweaking it yet. Newcastle chips run warmer than most 754 chips and I'm taking this as a sign the system is working.

Edit: The vcore on the cpu is actually 1.53 as my epox program states cpu-z and occt are reading it incorrectly for some reason.

I absolutely loved my Epox SLI board. Where on earth did you find the mobile 4000??? I looked and looked for one a while back but had no luck. Awesome OC and great rig!

I found it on ebay and without the outrageous price. I paid 35 shipped I believe and it had never been used. Some guy had it and didn't know much about the chip. Then thanks to txtmstrjoe for having a lapped ihs from a 939 chip that I stuck on the bare core just because I didn't want to take a chance on chipping the core. Here's a pic of the ihs on the chip and the pic doesn't do the lap job justice.

I want to overclock my system because im too broke to buy a new one at the moment what i know about it is that; I have an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ socket 754 2.0Ghz 2G DDR Ram and an MSI K8N Neo V2.0 motherboard, the FSB is 2x804Mhz

can anyone tell me what i should change the bios settings to to overclock, and also how high i can safely get the cpu

bad news guys my asrock mobo die 2 days ago from the overclock and they will going to give am2+ mobo and trade the semprom 2800+ for le-1250

I posted this under AMD Cpu but saw this an seemed more appropriate. Well I have overclocked my sempron 3300+ so far to 2.395GHz by upping the FSB in BIOS to 240 from the stock 200. My temps are all good 43C Max observed under Prime95 during a 4hr run. Wondering if i can push it farther if so how specifically ?

Also observed my ram went from 166 to 199mhz. I have looked around for a way to better monitor the temp. all I have read is that if there cool to the touch there okay. Well there perfect then because when I touch them there not even remotely warm.

Can I push that even farther also since it seems the 2 are locked as I push the FSB... also looking at memory coolers since i have none ATM.. I am thinking of getting the Ultra TherMax T8 Copper Memory Cooler with Heatpipes... This is very exciting to see how far it can be pushed. But at the same time this is my main comp so I cannot go overboard an burn it up all help would be appreciated.
