I have a problem with my AMD, every time i start up my windows, while it loads some other stuff the cpu uasge is around 45-90%, and when i play games it stayes at 98%, is this normal, it is not do i have to get a more powerful cpu?

yeah, disable the windows side bar from opening (along with the gadgets) and your cpu usage along with memory usage should go down.
also, do you have the most recent updates?

I haven't got much practical experience with Vista, but from what I've read it needs a lot of tweaking so that it doesn't hog all your resources. However, I had a feeling it was your OS that was using up all those cycles, and guessed that you were using Vista.
The good thing is, it's a situation that can be fixed. There are ways to optimize your OS so that it uses the fewest resources as possible to keep running optimally. However, this is beyond my realm of expertise. So, any Vista Ultimate experts able to help here? Or a Google search could prove most illuminating as well.
