Yeah no problem... it's a screw-down cooler, not a clip cooler

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

make sure whatevers holding your heatsink, is spot on in every way, if you tighten it when it is not, then it will not make proper contact with the core....
Its one of the big downsides of 2 point mounting mechanisms combined with a naked core......

Edit: the left one is obviously not the way to do it.......

unlike us, they dont havea clip that holds the cpu down with a certain needed pressure. i couldnt get my p4 to work without the ihs on it lol, it worked fine if i put it back on, i noticed the heatsink didnt reach the p4 die so i removed the clip, used extra washres so i could pul the gemin down farther, still no post like that .

their socket the old down is on the pins, so it doesnt interfer, luckies

I thought it was the e6xxx series were soldered on and the e4xxx series used thermal paste?

I may be wrong, but that is what I thought before

Well then, you'll probably wanna tighten it up a tad. I'm telling ya...it's gotta be tight lol. As I tightened mine the temps kept dropped...it's not big enough to make good flat contact without cranking on it...it'll just tilt down or something.

Yea it REALLY does have to be tightened so much that its scary..when its really tight and you think i wont tighten anymore...tighten it abit more..im running my sandy naked and its soo tight that like burns..my H-plate also has a slight curve in it..but im thinking of doing a reseat because im not so happy with my temps..although my load is just 2c above idle...it should be lower.
