Default My IHS removal and the trouble!

So I just removed my IHS an hour ago or so, and it went very easy.
Pics:

Or so I thought. When I booted up my computer first time, it did work "flawlessly" with my previous OC settings, until I started up SpeedFan... 39c, wow that's nice... wait a minute, 97C ON THE CORE? *pulls out power plug*

I was incredibly shocked, and removed my BT quickly to see if I failed my AS5 application, and lo and behold, I did. I missed some in the corner, and applied (on top of the rest) a bit more (stupid). I mounted it again, and went into BIOS... 70c off-core. Again, WTH?
I thought it was a temporary bug in my BIOS (because shutdown temp is at 60c), so I continued booting. Now, it FROZE at the middle of the booting, so I though, AW HELL NAW. and pulled out the plug.

So again, I took off my BT, nothing wrong. I removed it all again and reapplied. Now it didn't want to boot up, so I thought I had it messed up. My motherboard rebooted every time it was at 3 (CPU init), until it "gave up" and continued, and got to 1 led (GPU init). Now it beeped 1 long and 2 short, which IIRC is a GPU problem. That was pretty weird because I didn't touch my GFX at all.
Then I tried taking out the RAM, now it came up with the RAM error beep directly when I turned it on (1 long), and I thought, ok, still (sort of) works.
I put it back in, and turned it on. Voila, it POSTs.
Again, that was one of the "WTH" moments.

Then I try to boot... nothing, just gets stuck before it goes to verify DMI pool data. Very weird, so I go reset to defaults. Now it boots, ok WTH, because it does the same as above (graphics problem thingy) when I press the reset button.

I try to init my last OC settings, and now it works, and I'm booted into Windows with 39c core + non-core. Exactly what I wanted.

Before my temps were 43c core (summer) and 41c off-core.

You might find that your IHS is soldered onto the core, therefore if you try to pull the IHS you'll pull the core with it

So everything is working cool now gonX? I think a CPU with no IHS looks awesome.. really shows you're a leet overclocker lol.

Just a question...but how tight did you put the BT? You REALLY gotta crank it...and be VERY sparing with the AS5...it's not like the core isn't flat within micrometers....lol

Try it again but this time really tighten the BT a lot. For comparison, my bar in the middle that holds it on...it's bowed from the torque on the screws...(cores are really hard as long as you tighten it evenly.)

Not as hard as I did with the IHS.

Is the the core properly contacting the heatsink?

Because your CPU isn't as tall anymore
