hey guys, i was just wondering, what cpu temperature should i not go above?
im getting 54c while running arthos for about 30min. should i be worried?

Catalyst, I would start to worry if it got to 65C. My Opteron has gotten up to 60 - 64C during Orthos full load tests with a 25C room ambient. You've probably already have seen the peak temperature after the 30 minute test. Is the IHS also lapped or is just the AC64 that is lapped?

the IHS and the HSF are both lapped. i think the next step would be to remove the IHS, as i wont be moving to water cooling untill i can afford a new rig

Catalyst, well if your full load temps are steady at the temperature you described above then it may not be necessary to de-lid anything. A full load temperature of 54C is not anything to worry about. What is your room ambient temperature?

not to sure about ambient temperature, say around 18-20c.
iv managed to lower the cpu temp a slight ammount (2-3c) by reducing the Vcore from 1.375v to 1.363v.

Catalyst, good job. Did you recheck stability with Orthos/Prime95 to make sure your overclock is still stable at 1.363v?
