Default The Official Order Of The Opteron (Please read first post)

Welcome to The Official Order Of The Opteron

This thread is now under management of myself. I am keeping this thread alive so that others may benefit from th information within. Any previous owners/managers need not take offence from this. I am simply keeping it alive for the community

This a thread intended to be an informal repository for Opteron information as well as an area of general discussion. The only thing I ask is that you submit a CPU-Z validation in your post which I will then post in the members list and that in your post you supply as much information as possible about your Opteron CPU in order to help others.

Download CPU-Z for validation and information on your CPU:CPU-Z 1.43 (New release !)

Validation is of course not mandatory but would be appreciated and just to clarify what I said above, will be required to be on the members list in this post. The validation does NOT need to be a max overclock or even an overclock at all it's purpose is to provide some measure of proof that you are currently running an Opteron in your system.

Most overclockable stepping average threads for socket AM2 and 939 Opterons already exist, if you wish to formaly submit your Opterons stepping and overclock for the record please do so in the links below. Thankyou.

I havent checked the max load temps because i was a little worried Are these normal temps?
That is a negative my friend...those are quite bad for being idle. Load temps are definately more important, but those are pretty high for being idle. Mine idles at 32*C and loads at 69*C (which is too hot). I'd advise you to reseat your HSF and use some AS5 minimum.

Congratulations on the new board!

Hopefully you can get more speed out of your Santa Ana with the new board than you did with the ASRock.

Alright, my Opty and I are joinin' the club. The little guy is a Opteron 165 CCBWE 0550UPMW.
Right now I have it @ 2628 MHz stable (292FSBx9)
Here's the validation:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=256500

I've had it a tad higher, but as it approaches 2750Mhz, it becomes unstable.

Thanks! I have it running @ 2.90/1.45V right now just for "stabilty" while I get everything updated. I don't know if I will be able to get higher with this board but it has already shown itself to be much more stable the Vcore does not budge in CPU-Z if I set it at 1.45 thats where it stays! Paired with my Rosewill this is the most stable board I have used voltage wise.

Congratulations on the new board! Can't wait to see some good clock speeds come from you (not that I haven't already). And I'll also throw out a welcome to all the new Opteron members in here! Opterons FTW!!!

Cool My Opteron 1216

New board for me too! Thought I'd give an actual AMD chipset board a shot for once instead of the usual nForce boards I go with. Altogether, I spent about $130 USD for the CPU & Motherboard!

BIOSTAR TA690G HDMI Micro ATX Motherboard (AMD690G+ATI SB600) + AMD Opteron 1216 Santa Ana Dual-Core 2.4GHz AM2 CPU (Newegg links for actual products but I didn't personaly buy from Newegg).

Core : Santa Ana (90 nm) / Revision : JH-F2 / Socket 940/AM2

CPU-Z 1.41 Validation Link @ 2.8GHz 1.42v (24/7 Use)

CPU-Z 1.41 + SuperPi 1M Link @ 3.049GHz 1.58v (Benchmarking)

So far, I've gotten her to 3.049GHz stable for benchmarking and that is with a bare minimum of BIOS tweaks. All I did really was set BIOSTAR's "Automatic Overclocking Engine" to it's highest setting and used ClockGEN for the rest. Just wanted to get it up and running as fast as possible and as high as possible. I'm going to seriously tweak it later on down the road to see just how high I can get her but it isn't a pressing matter atm.
