bad thing about these cpu is it run very hot when you overclock it! i still remember when they have the old 64 come out , you could overclock them on air very easy.

BS...I was able to hit 3.4GHz with my 5000BE on 1.6V and it never went over 42C.

those things kick butt when modded with a better fan....

Hey guys.....Just built my first rig with a 5000+ BE!
I am in the process of overclocking it and am only at 3100 mhz right now at 1.42 vcore. Lets just hope I can push it a little more...

Just curious. Read through about the last 10 pages on this thread. But what is the best OC for a 24 7 running system so far. I was one of the first in this thread and it has grown to over 50 pages! Glad to see the 5000BE continuing to be a favorite for AMD enthusiast. What did you end up with for a final OC Bowtie?

You won't get to 3.4 stable. 3.3 is totally doable with some juice. This is what I set mine at to hit that speed.

220 MHz FSB - 15x multiplier
5x HT
approx 1.47V (might be able to get away with lower)

I got mine up to 3.405 with almost 1.6V but it couldn't get past a few minutes in Orthos. Ran fine in games and stuff for a couple hours before I had a crash.

I've reached 3.4ghz, but the most stable setting is 3.2ghz @ 1.42-1.47v, at least for 24/7 use. No problems so far at this frequency. Excelent processor.

I finally settled at 3.2 also. Though mine runs stable at 1.38V. Funny how the same processors can be that different.
