I can overclock it up to 2.31 by increasing the fsb to 210 but when i decide to restart my pc it comes up saying "System now in Safe mode. Please resetting CPU Frequency in CMOS Setup Press F1 to continue, Del to enter setup, ........."

here is the validation http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=457485

What other settings would i need to change in the bios to have it stop this and keep my overclock?

Ive read multiple guides but find it difficult cas they all talking bout other motherboards!!

Hmm. I ended up purchasing a 9600 quad. Yes yes I hear it all day long that I should have spent an extra 50 or 60 dollars and bought the 9950 but my real question.. Are the AMD Agena Quad cores really as iffy as people make them out to be? Or are they fairly dependable? Because if the 9600 is going to give me as many problems as people make it out to be, I'll leave the godforsaken-thing in the closed box when I get it and just return it for a 9950.

I've got a 9600 quad as per sig rig and I think that the problem is not so much the CPU as it is the SB600. Motherboards with the SB750 do significantly better with the same Phenom than the SB600.

He has the first revision and you have the newer b3. People have had good luck with the 790fx or 790gx motherboards, but I would go for the unlocked multiplier of the 9950

Well it is a 790gx chipset on the asus mobo and I think I might end up just getting the 9950 black, yeah. Seems like the best bang for the buck.

Good choice. You'll have a much better chance of 3 ghz+ overclocks
