Have the temps settled any in the past week? Sometimes they can cool a degree or two through burn-in.

Updates on the cooler search? You have to break 10k in 06!

I dont know where you're going to find a deal on a TRUE, they hold there value really well (second hand).

yeah I know... I found one for $55 shipped, with two 120mm fans. Probably going to get that one, but I don't know yet...

temps are mostly the same, I'll double check when I get home from school

Nate, the 10C difference in temps is what I also see with my LCBQE. In regards to the stock cooler that came with your 175, I actually lapped mine all the way up to 1500 grit and temps were still high. When you pick up a aftermarket cooler you should see a noticeable improvement over full load temps.

yeah I'm looking for another cooler, might have found a TRUE (overkill I know... but so? )

I don't want to increase voltage for a while, going to see the max OC on stock volts, then maybe overvolt a tad... not so sure yet.

well, drop some more mem into that mac and it will definately run a lot better!

and yes, ipods are great. i own a 16gb touch myself (get it? )

up the fsb and let that ting rip! it looks like a newer opty then mine (0617). never heard of the stepping though. the 11 multi must be nice

11 isn't so bad though

Nate, the Opteron 165's and 170's are known for their excellent overclocks. The newer steppings (LCB9E and LCBQE) are excellent OCer's but remember nothing is ever guaranteed. I'm hoping with your 175 you come close to your target OC. That 11x multiplier should be helpful on lessening the stress on your chipset(not having to run such a high HTT). I hope the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme treats you well.

Yes, but when i ran this individual chip I never saw more than 3-4C difference, under a zalman. So it's either some bizarre chipset issue, or more likely just needs a reseat/new cooler.
