will my 3600 had about a 10 diffence between the cores

my opty 165 was lapped and had 10c difference when stress testing,but was stable at 2.8

Lol... You guys don't understand, this Particular cpu only has a 3-4C difference. I ran the chip for about 5 months at 2.75GHz, and kept a close eye on the temps, under a zman 9700. Then I sent it to Nate.

So either my 9700 counter-acted the chips lop-sided temps (highly unlikely as my c2d are within 2C), or his current heatsink/seating isn't even.

I might move the HSF around to spread out the thermal paste...

I'm also looking for a new heatsink to replace stock, but I'm really cheap and I don't want to spend the money for a TRUE and 2 really high CFM fans

Nate, perhaps it's a sensor issue on your chipset then. I think there are a few members in the Socket 939 Club thread that have experienced these weird variations in temperature. I for one I have also experienced it.

I wouldnt push it to hard on stock HSF. I had the Zalman 9700 on my opteron 165 @3.2ghz 1.5Vcore ram was high too. It wouldnt break 55c.

thats a mighty fine overclock you got there!

I'm not too happy with my current board. I may put it towards folding with my 3800+ if I can find a replacement board for cheap (lower = better )
