Default overclock log on Opteron 175. lapped! *PIX 4/27*

First of all, thanks to Duffsr for the processor.

Woohoo! Just booted up for the first time, and got right onto OCN.
Pics of installation are coming as soon as I take 'em off the camera.

I'm going to be running 3dm06. If theres any benchmarks you want me to run, post a link to the download, because I probably don't have it

to fold on two cores, do I just start the FAH console twice? or do i need it in a different directory so they don't write over each other's logs?

yeah i know, thinking about folding already

3dmark tests to follow. (how do I post links? they only go to my most recent test)

I'm going to use this post for lapping pictures POST-JACK ALERT!

Please note: Some pictures stink, others are amazing.
LAPPING!
Starting off:

The Lapping Surface (glass onto of coffee table, its all I got)

Cheap-o lubricant

Mmmm copper dust, great for the lungs!

Woodlands club, good memories. Refill for sandpaper

GAG more dust

Doesn't look as flat as I was expecting

Done with 400 grit

600 grit (Why can't I always take pictures like this next one?)

Not healthy for my lungs

I might overclock tomorrow after school. I'll start at 2.7 (what Duffsr "reached easily" ). Run a test during school, OC to 2.8, run a test during school, OC to 2.85, test during school, OC to 2.9, test during school, OC to 2.925, test during school, OC to 2.95, test during school, 2.975, 3.

I will monitor temps before school. If they look like they're going anywhere (stock cooler remember) I will stop until I find a TRUE for sale. (I'm cheap, what can I say?)

Overclocking Log:

Tuesday March 25. Orthos testing at 2.7Ghz. Temps are: Core #0 @ 45C, Core #1 @ 53-56C

This might be the limit on stock cooling, simply because of core 1's temps.

2.8GHz 1.4V, have not checked for stability, only for benchmarking for now.

Just ran for an hour stable at 2.7ghz. Core 0 at ~45C and core 1 at ~55. Thats where they're staying. Gonna check min and max temps after school.

Stable 2.7 GHz Overclock!!!!!

I've heard of ~5C differences in cores, but a full 10C for most of the time?!? I'm kinda scared about that.

Hmm. I don't recall having that large a discrepancy between the cores when I ran Opty.

If you've got some paste, you might consider cleaning and reseating. Or wait for a better high-end cooler before you go further.

Or better yet, ask everyone here what they think.

Yeah, I'm waiting for a good deal on a TRUE before I go higher than this. 55C is about my limit.
