Default A64 3200 (Venice) Help

I'm posting some CPUZ info. I want to know what I can do to increase my OC (currently 250 x 10 with HT of 4 for a 2500 clock).

The only thing that isn't on AUTO is the multiplier and FSB and HT, everything else is managed by MB. See my sig for my rig config. My crappy Ultra 400 mhz memory usually runs around 266 or 333 mhz.

My temps are around 34 idle and 42 load.

Thanks all!

I saw PC3200 400 mhz for $40 and I figured its better than the PC2700 I had so I got it. Was improvement over my old ram, but not good 4 OC.

So with my current RAM should I just be happy with the 2500 mhz ?

Well if you're interested in finding out how fast your CPU can go, set the memory to 1:2 (100 MHz). That should allow you to push the motherboard/CPU clock speed to their max without having to worry about the memory bottlenecking the system. After you find the max of both you can invest in better memory if you wish.

NF4 cooling is very important to overclocking and the default Asus cooler is a POS. Replace that thing wiht a Vantec Iceberq or simply point a fan in its direction to aid your overclocking adventure. Testing with an A8N-SLI DLX, with the stock cooler I could only do 270 MHz, after swapping it wiht a Crystal orb, I could go as high as 360 MHz.

As for 3DMark05, you can find that here.

Thanks for the link, i'm on 56 K (not by choice broadband isn't even available in any form where I live) so i'll have it in a month or two, lol.

As of right now the stock fan is controlling the temps fine, like I said with intense gaming it stays upper 40's low 50's (guild wars everything set to max playing for hours).

Im going to find the limit of my CPU next day i'm off (about 5 days) and then i'll decide if I want to invest in some OCZ memory.

Thanks again, you guys are definately knowledgeable (<--spelling)
