Hi everybody,
I began tonite making OC slowly step by step. Here is the cpu-z result http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=361533 ![]() I need to handle some cooling for pc then i will go on. I didnt have any problem till now. During the nite after OC I use pc and still no any frozen. I am new for 6400+ and I will need your help and advices. After OC i tried Crysis and it was really different even 200Mhz something changed. After having a stable values i will apply some OC to my vga card too.I also changed HT from Auto to 800Mhz and ram from 800mhz to 667. What do you think about it? It was necessary or not? According to the results how can i go on as stock equipment? I tried 223x15.5 but in play it locked after some minutes. 222x15.5 seems like stable but maybe i should check it with orthos then we can see. think3r friend gave a thread link about "the things must know before OC in the forum and i think i need to read it first very well. Please share your knowledge about 6400+ and OC ![]() thanks for your helps... PS: in my bios menu in ram section there are numbers as 800-667-533-and 400, if i want to set my ram timing as 4-4-4-12 which one should i choose. in everst it says 4-4-4-12@266mhz but in my list there is no 266.Any help for this?

hi first of all after you change something test your system wtih orthos for 1h to see if it si stable also monitor your temps with coretemp i will suggest that they souldnt go above 55 during testing if they do you should lower your oc and buy a good hs!Also lock your pci bus at 33 and pci-ex bus at 100 Mhz!for the memory what you see in everest or in cpuz is the half so 266x2=532!What memory timings are your stock timings and what company are your

that is a respectable overclock sofar with that chip, some people have trouble getting that high on air cooling.
as for the settings you mentioned for the ram (800-667-533-400), they are default speeds if you are running your FSB at stock values. So they will change as you raise your FSB. If you look at your "MEMORY" tab on CPU-Z, and look at FSB: DRAM, you will see that the speed settings mentioned above (800-667-533-400) are just "dividers" from your CPU speed. It takes a fraction of your CPU speed and sets your ram to that speed. You should monitor your temperatures at that high of a speed. There are several programs that will do that. (EX: speedfan, coretemp, or everest) you should be aiming for below 55C max while running orthos if your temperatures are fine, you could consider adding more voltage for stability. 1.5v is usually a little much for air cooling but 1.45v is perfectly reasonable good luck with your overclocking

Even the cheap ram should handle a small overclock like that at 800 mhz, It would make things perform better as well a bit. My cheap ADATA ram is running at 950 Mhz currently, so good luck

hi friends,
I tried orthos and it stopped 2 times in 5 min 15 sec. I add the pic and tell me what can be the reason? My eyes on the temp and it was very normal. I think it is because of something else. Vista gives the warning as "orthos stopped working" and it wants me to close it or find an online solution. Any experiment for that? ![]() Thank you...

Means your OC is orthos unstable, possibly 4 gigs of ram is stressing the mobo a lot.

From what i can tell and this is just me......no flames plz if I'm Wrong. I think it is your memory holdiong back your OC. In your sig you did not mention what brand it was so that tells me that possibly you do not know, i agree ithe joker on the four sticks of ram stressing your memory controller. Try taking out 2 sticks and running orthos with the same settings. I would like to know how that fairs
__________________and at the same time lower you memory freq to 400 , that way it underclocks your memory and takes it out of the picture. and do another orthos run....if it passes then you know it is your memory

Set your cpu voltage in the bios to 1.45v and run orthos again. That would be as high as i would go on that chip with air.If you allready have it set at that then I would back the bus down a little bit and make another orthos run.Set your ram back up to 800MHz.It should run at that speed no higher than your bus is.
Allso download core temp so you can keep an eye on temps.
