3DMark isn't exactly accurate when comparing systems. A quad core will jump the score up in 3DMark, but actually lose game performance to a higher clocked dual core. IMO, his processor is fast enough to power his system. I'd wait until you build your next system to swap it out. You're just not going to notice much of a difference.

Here's a BE5000 with 2 GB of memroy, the memory does cost you 3 dollars more than just the BE though.

I'd have to agree with some of the other people that have posted here. There SHOULDN'T be a bottleneck in your system according to your sig rig. I score over 10k IN VISTA, AT ALL STOCK CLOCKS ON EVERYTHING. That's a 1.8GHz dual core SOCKET 939 system with a STOCK CLOCKED 8800GTS 512MB. So there's most definitely something screwy going on.

Try removing one card physically out of your system, and try again. See what you score with just one card. Then try the SLI out again. And don't go by 3DMark benchmarks to think you've got a bottleneck. There's absolutely NO reason to think that you've got one. There IS a problem somewhere in your setup since you're scoring so low. There's only a bottleneck if you can no longer play your games the way you want to (assuming on all high).
