for 2.5 i only upped the multiplier to 12.5x in the bios, the program my MSI board comes with to overclock doesn't work at all for me, as soon as I try to change profiles the system crashes, no OC at all.

when I get some money for a better cooler I'll start toying around and making atleast 2.8 a goal, if not newegg will be getting some money for a 9850/9950 from me

Thanks man, I tried that too. Hell nothing seems to work in this combo. Waiting for the 45nm phenoms.

EDIT: Ignore this post. It was for my previous 9600BE chip.

Nice Thread, rep +.

For the record, i got my phenom 9500 to 2.5 easily, and i have low temps with a ac freezer 64 pro that isnt even seated properly. I'm too lazy to fix it but you get the point.

My Phenom 9500 Did 2.7Ghz with an Asus M3A32-MVP and Equipped with a TRUE. I did used to have a CPU-Z verification, but I sorta deleted it

But yeah, im glad this thread is helping people, that is sorta the point of it all.

Its all dependant on the chip you get.

Each chip tops out at some point, others sooner. I would hazard I guess that you chip isnt going to get much farther than what you have now without some pretty extreme cooling.

Its a number of things that can affect the overclock.

If its any consolation, I had the same Mobo/CPU setup as you, and I topped out at the same Its how things go.

For arguements sake, if you are overclocking by the bus, then make sure you arent overdoing the CPU-NB speed. The M2RS doesnt have voltage control for the CPU-NB so you are gonna have to throttle that at some point.

Try increasing some of your chipset voltages a notch or two in the BIOS, try and gain you a bit more stability.
