Its a number of things that can affect the overclock.

If its any consolation, I had the same Mobo/CPU setup as you, and I topped out at the same Its how things go.

For arguements sake, if you are overclocking by the bus, then make sure you arent overdoing the CPU-NB speed. The M2RS doesnt have voltage control for the CPU-NB so you are gonna have to throttle that at some point.

Try increasing some of your chipset voltages a notch or two in the BIOS, try and gain you a bit more stability.
Sweet Ill give it a go, thx

Slapped on a zalman 9500 with fresh AS5 today and updated my BIOS to the latest version.

Right now I'm stable 2.6ghz

12.5 multi
208 ht ref
HTlink and NB are running ~1872mhz
cpu voltage at 1.4
nb voltage bumped up slightly

Idle is 36-40, ambient in my room fluctuates alot, under load I'm not really seeing any higher than 56

My motherboard doesn't allow change of the NB multi and the HT multi must be less or equal to the NB multi so that locks me out of skyrocketing the ht ref speed. I'm going to leave this to stress overnight then slowly start bumping up the ht ref till I hit 2.7

Thanks Vis. It was helpful. Damn it, i can't OC my proc past 2.5 Ghz but i can OC the NB upto 2.4 Ghz. It sounds strange isn't it? But needs extra voltage. i am pretty stable with NB at 2.2 and HT at 2.0 but hell tough luck with the proc.

wow tommorow I'll have to try rocketing up the HT ref and see how far my nb will let me go

so far 4 hours occt stable 55 degrees, i'd like to be cooler but i'm sure i'm reaching the limit of the cooler, once the AS5 cures ill get a little more out of it though

try turning down the notch of your memory down one, I've got mine running underclocked mainly to see how far my cpu will go stable, if I can be stable at 2.7 ill be happy and turn the memory back up

edit: had some time before work so I toyed around some more. right now putting the voltage on the cpu any higher than 1.3 skyrockets both my idle and load temps to 45/65+, for some reason amd overdrive doesn't show my voltage past stock 1.25

Back at 1.3v my idle is 38 and with the ht ref clocked up to 212 resulting in 2.65ghz (ht 1.9ghz) I've run 2 hours occt so far without jumping higher than 60, hangs around 58. Also the NB voltage is still stock, I thought I would have to bump it up atleast one notch but that doesn't seem to be the case. I've ordered a hdt-s1283 so hopefully with that I'll be able to pull more out of this.

Anyone have a good program for monitoring chipset temps? specifically MSI K9A2 platinum? I'd like to keep this board from frying =]

I use PC Wizard 2008, although the chipset sensor on my board is faulty.

more toying around has netted me these results

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=398242

NB and HT voltages bumped up 2 notches
CPU voltage 1.35

Runs stable with p95. but OCCT and Orthos give me a "Calculation error detected" anyone want to clue me in on how to overcome that?

Also for some reason AMD overdrive doesn't detect the voltages I've set, they only display stock, and with the BIOS set to disable the TLB patch the patch still runs, and idea?
