Okay that worked for me and I ran OCCT fine, but today I've replaced the zalman 9500 with a xigmatek s1283 and now I can't run OCCT without getting "Code 1 : The thread stopped because another thread has stopped"

The only things that have changed are the hsf (10 degrees cooler idle now) and moving my ram sticks because of the size of the hsf

So it could be that putting ur RAM in the secondary channel is causing the problem. Perhaps u need to add a bit more vdimm. Or try to put a single stick in the primary channel and give it it a shot.

That could be something to do with your subtimings.

Try a quick CMOS clear to see if that alleviates any of your problems.

If the problem still persists, then Id guess moving your memory into the different channel may have caused a little weirdness.

Your best man for memory subtimings is The Duke. Throw him a PM if clearing the CMOS doesnt work.

(Props to TicTac on XS forums)

I seriously do not recommend messing around with BIOS registers however for fear of bricking your board.

Man!!! is this chip (see my sig rig) stubborn or the mobo i don't know. tried almost everything but can't stabilize my system even at 2.5ghz . I really miss my 9500 & GA MA-790x DS4 which i could run at 2.86 ghz stable. Guess i am gonna give this chip to my friend and get back the 9500 unless u guys could help me out. Please....
I have the same mobo, and it is fair stubborn! I tried the same overclock on my friends gigabyte boards and no problems getting to the same result.

Lol, my old M3A32 failed to post a lot of the time, even if I had perfect CPU stability, it would just refuse to play nice...

My DFI is probably the best bang for buck 790FX board you can get. Overclocks like a champ, and the BIOS is incredibly flexible (Playing around with 6.6x multi's is fun ).

I would definately look into it if you ever wanted a new board. Or, the 790GX-M2RS is coming soon when the 790GX BIOS issues are straightened out. Either way they dont cost the world and offer you good oC'ing.
