Talking Bottleneck Romover?

Hey OCN,

To remove my bottleneck on my SLI 8800GT do i need a CPU with a higher speed or a higher L2 size? The 4400+ i have is at 2.9 GHZ and a 2x 512 L2! Any Ideas?

Ya higher clocks with cpu and ram a 4400 still is not a huge performance killer

So what you are saying is that a CPU with a Higher L2 and Clock Speed is going to remove the bottleneck? Is a 6000+ with a 3GHza and 2mb L2 going to do the job? I can OC the 6000+ higher to like 3.4GHz or so mabe higher?

My 3DMark06 scores are way low at 10k even at 3.27GHz! A better CPU should bring this up i hope!

Why do you think you need a better CPU? Because 3DMark said so? Seriously, what games are you trying to play that are running so slow with 2 8800GT's?

at 3.2Ghz you're fine. You're gonna have a hard time trying to find a CPU that won't bottleneck those cards. In a way every CPU bottlenecks those cards. A quad core will bottleneck them less though.

Well Crysis Plays on Medium Settings at 1280x1024 no AA and only a 15-25 FPS! COD4 Maxed Out at 1680x1050 and 4x AA gets a 35-140 FPS!
