Off topic: Is that your current 3Dmark06 score man? It seems a bit low for your setup...

i get the same, or slightly higher, score as Gen running at the same speed CPU and my 4870x2. CF is CPU dependant, and these things don't clock too high, unfortunately
__________________![]() btw, if anyone is interested, in my BIOS there are two options... Auto Xpress and CPU Tweak CPU Tweak disables all power saving on the CPU and has as side effect of bumping up the idle temps by a few degrees. and both settings, when enabled, will improve system performance and bench scores.

Are there any risks in turning CNQ off?
I assume if you have sufficient cooling there would be no worries?

Basically it takes control of your CPU's clock speed (and voltage?), and will turn it down to conserve energy while your processor isn't being utilized. For general desktop computing (word processing, internet browsing etc) it would be wise to have this feature enabled as it can "in theory" cut down on the total heat outputted by your CPU and reduce the total power usage of your PC whilst idle. The problem with this feature for us overclockers is that we need our CPU clock speed and voltage to be constant at all times to keep our systems stable. Hence why it is recommended turning this feature off when overclocking. ![]() Correct me if I am wrong

^^ seems about right. i've never turned it on.

Heres my numbers guys.. by the way I turn down my Vcore to 1.28. I dont know why Cpu Z didnt validate that but trust me 1.28 Vcore for 3.109 Idle temp is 40 C and 49 to 52 at full load.

I was thinking like 200x16=3.2ghz. What voltage do I need to put up? I keep hearing I have to OC the NB and stuff.

What BIOS version are you running? The latest on from Asus or one of the previous ones? and did you play with the North Bridge settings at all to get that overclock? I have been really confused as of late by all the NorthBridge settings and when I've been overclocking up to this point I generally only up the vCore on my CPU to get stability. I've been searching around for a some detailed descriptions on what all the NorthBrige settings mean but have had no luck.. I am sure those settings are the missing key for getting a nice stable clock over 3.2GHz... Well at least I hope it is ![]() Any thoughts? Quote:
Hope that helps!

I wasn't even stable at 3.0ghz @ 1.35V with my board, and its the same thing as yours 790FX+SB600!!! Can you explain your OC more in-depth? Like HT Link, HTT speed.... Optimal for 3.1Ghz would be ~1.4V
