I have had my AMD2 X9950 to 3400 mhz, Thats as high as i can get it right now. It's at 3.28 ghz most of the time.I have an ASUS M3A78-EM board, I have 4GB of 800 mhz ram. I use 2 550 watt power supplys 1 is for the board and processor, and the other one i use for the other drives that are on it, like the dvd, burners, the GForce8600 GT graphics adaptor,, It works great. But i have an other one with an INTEL 3.40 ghz processor, that will run at 4.03 ghz, pretty steady, Im still working onm the AMD, because I figured I could get MUCH more out of it, than i have so far. I have been trying to get a screen shot, but i dont know how to get a good one like the one thats here. Ill keep trying, Ill post it as soon as you can see what I have here

Hasn't Impresed me much yet. I really figured it would do more than it has. The Processor is very nice, just NOWHERE near as fast as i hoped it would be. I have 5 fans on it too.

I have an AMD 2 X9950, on an ASUS board, I have 4 gb 800mhz ram, the most I have gotten so far is 3.40ghz., I run it at 3.28 most of the time, its pretty reliable there so far.Im kinda dissapointed in it so far, I have an intel 3.40ghz, and it goes to 4.03 pertty easy, Im still trying to figure what it takes to get more, so far NO luck. I dont know if the board is the limiting factor here or not. This one is better the the other one I had. I mean its easier to overclock, and it goes higher.I use 2 550 watt power supplys on it. 1 is for the board and processor, and the other one. I use to run everything else. My next move is to go to 1066mhz ram to see what that does for me. I have 6 fans on it too. Good luck

turn your RAM down to 800, that will make it more stable. when i got to 3.0Ghz, i needed to go from 1066 to 800 to create stability.

Hi there all,
__________________First time overclocker here. I got my 140W 9950 up to 3.0GHz (x15 multiplier), however the voltage is a lot higher than what you guys got. I have to give 1.3625 to boot into Windows xp 32bit, but unstable. Right now I am sitting at 1.3750V. I have tried all the voltages from 1.2500 - 1.3750. Idle temperature is at 27C celcius. Not sure about load temp as I can't get past a min of OCCT. I am using a Zalman 9700 CPU cooler. At 2.6GHz(stock) I used 1.25V and idled at room temperature. As a first time overclcoker, I only know how to play with the voltages, have not touched the RAM settings, they run at 800mhz (1:2), 5-5-5-15-24 at 1.80v. At 2.9GHz I could boot into windows with ~1.30v, I think. Could anyone help me with this overclcok please? Edit: CPU-Z reads 1.3750v, same as my BIOS, while Asus PC Probe reads 1.34v. Which one should I go with?

I have 2 9850 Black edition: My first one is very easy to OC and reaches 3.469ghz My New one is a pain just to get 3.2ghz and requires More Vcore than the old one. To make sure it wasn't the new Mobo, I swapped CPU's (hardware is Identicle...Ram, HD, DVD, Heatsink etc.) And sure enough it was Just the difference in CPU's. I could reach the same OC's with CPU's swapped. On my Old (Better) 9850 on my gigabyte board the thing that helped out the most when OC'ing was setting the 1066ram to 800, and adjusting the CPU NB VID voltage along with the Vcore (Keeping the CPU NB VID just 1 Notch below the CPU Vcore). Every Setup is different and Every Chip is different but that what worked on my Gigabyte board (GA-M750SLi-DS4.

Thanks for your reply.
__________________Luckily the load temps aren't too high right now, I guess I will be giving it a little more juice to get a stable 3.0GHz. Now this makes me want to get the 940 a LOT more. =)

LOL,
What ram are you running? 800mhz or 1066? On my boards (Mushkin) 1066 was used up to 3.2ghz after that I had to drop it to 800. If they are the 1066 versions the ram settings should be @1066 5-5-5-15 2T @ 2.050-2.100V @800 i think it's like 5-5-5-18 2T @1.8V
