miloshs,

It's looking good so far

As long as it's stable it's all good

And if it is stable you can hopefully work your way Up,

But if you can't...don't be bummed....3.0ghz on a 9850/9950 is more than enough for games or any thing else you might do

Tnx for the input guys....

I just can't remmember if my PC froze after a while while running 3.0g... i'll have to try it again when i get home on monday...

What would be the top Vcore setting for 140W Phenoms? The upper limit?

For those of us on air, I think the temp would be the wall we hit first.

Im guessing 3.2ghz would need something like 1.45V?

Possibly, but seeing that you're already pushing 1.4v with 3.0GHz, it probably won't get a lot higher. Some have the vcore as high as 1.54v @ 3.2GHz and its not stable.

We have simliar chips, one that runs relatively cool, mid 30Cs at these voltage, but it just doesnt want to be stable at higher frequency. I haven't tried too hard after some failures, perhaps you can get it higher!, good luck.

some of the newer 125w can get to 3.0ghz stable with 1.25v!

Im guessing youre right.... you just explained everything thats happening to me... low temps, yet unstable OC at anything higher that 2.8 (or maybe 3.0)... I'll defo try it on monday and share it with you guys...

Only thing is, i tried my OC on Vista x64, and i've heard that Vista doesn't like high OC's on the Phenoms.... any truth in this gossip???

I believe there is some truth to the vista 64bit OC'ing disadvantage ( atleast for the Phenoms.

A member here named Hondaguy, Has a very nice CPU and all combining parts and has achieved 3.6ghz in Windows XP but in Vista 64bit I believe he could only hit 3.4ghz (If i am wrong someone please correct me).

On My 3.468ghz Cpu (In Vista 64bit).... I could hit 3.5ghz in vista 64bit But only in safe mode...So I do not count it.

I really don't know what is causing the issue.... and i plan on doing a XP vs. Vista 64 bit OC'ing comparison....But first I need to finish up a Review on My foxconn Destroyer
