If you only increased CPU multi i don't see why you should increase HT voltage... only your CPU needs more power, maybe your RAM is causing the problems... but then again if you didnt OC the FSB everything should be fine...
__________________Usually if you OC the FSB, the i should at the start lower HT speed, and RAM speed without increasing the voltage on those two... if you don't get your HT and RAM lower than rated then you should increase the voltage on both... thats just what i would do... 1. Try CPU multi + voltage 2. lower HT speed + lower RAM speed + increase FSB + multi intact + CPU voltage+ 3. increase FSB + CPU voltage+, HT voltage+, RAM voltage+ Also sometimes when you increase CPU speed you need to up the HT speed to keep up with the CPU... some ppl had isues at 3.2ghz + HT 2.0 and not at 3.2ghz + HT 2.2ghz... Might wanna give that a try...

Hey guys I remember coming to this site onetime to check the top clock speed for the 9950. Well this is my 9950 and it uses stock cooling.
![]() I am also going to try for 3.3Ghz later on tonight if it passes prime95 ill post a picture

ok, so..... let me start by saying i just got my new water cooling kit hooked up, yay me, and im looking to overclock my 9950. I already have it clocked to 3.0 (pic below) with a very slight voltage bump. It idels at 31c and load is 36c What im looking for is to get this guy up to around 3.4 24/7 and 3.6 benching. (or whatever temps will allow :P) Now ive gotten it to boot at 3.5 and be prime 95 stable for 30 mins with 1.44 volts, but then when i restart my system it wont even boot to windows? then i try lowering my clocks to 3.2 and still wont boot to windows, i either get the famous bsod or the funky colors all over the screen lol. btw im only using multi to overclock. Am i doing something wrong here or something? it just doesn't want to stay stable at anything past 3ghz no matter the voltages after i restart. If it helps ive got the 125w tdp version. Im probably going to get yelled at for making a new thread but i couldn't really find any other threads to put it in sorry :/
Recommendations Please?

well i boosted my RAM to 2.1V which is apparently what it should be at. apparently the ram i got comes undervolted. so i will see if that was the issue.

__________________I really think that 1.44V on 3.5ghz is not going to be enough for a Phenom, anyhow your problems are funky... better not try it again... Phenoms are a pain in the but when it comes to OC-ing, really erratic... always expect the unexpected ... Some specimens just won't go higher and thats it, you might have that one... as well as i do 3.0ghz stable for me, and it won't go higher. Its actually same as yours i can boot higher but its just not stable. Im probably gonna sell mine and go for Phenom II 920 or 910... @PySoMaNiC how long was your Prime 95 test? Somehow i find it impossible to cool that thing at 3.3ghz with just a stock cooler... i mean i have Thermalright HR-01 Plus (lapped) with a 2400rpm, 110CFM fan on it, and it still gets to 42oC after an hour of Prime 95... and trust me stock is waaaaaaay worse than HR-01... even at 800rpm... @blackspirerider Thats cuz of the integrated memory controller on the Phenom, does that every time with 1066mhz ram. Happens on every 790FX mobo, and probably every mobo that runs Phenom CPU's... my mobo undervolted mine to 1.85V which is apparently not enough when it comes to OC-ing...

.Try tweaking your reference clock. 220 seems to be a "sweet spot" for my chip. I've been running 15 x 220 for quite a while now. Doesn't seem to have too much trouble posting.

Altho i guess 3.4 and 3.5 applies only to FXb and GX boards... doubt i could do it on my FX with the SB600 southbridge... Good to know 9950 can handle 1.55V... i guess air cooling is out of the question at those voltages???

I'm talking >1.60 V here. The boards start to top out at about 1.58 V, after that, they tend to get pretty flakey.
