With my cpu overclocked as far as I can I thought I'd give orthos a try...

Congrats, that is what we call a solid 24/7 OC... you shouldn't have any issues with stability.
(oh, and next time, try raising the priority of orthos, that should stress it a bit more... set it to 9 or 10). Great job

I actually didn't intend for it to be a 24 hour test but my 12 hour day at work turned into 16 so by the time I got home it was too late to really do anything so I just left it running the rest of the night.

Seeing as it's stable for 24 hours, would't you want to try to push it a little bit higher? It seems like a really clean run, looks like there may be a little more room. Maybe to the 3 GHz mark.
Worth a try, right?

I have got it to 3GHz now.. 200 Mhz w/ 15 multiplier. Haven't ran a stress test for more than about an hour but it passed no problem w/ temps still not crossing 53. Big test I'm sure to come one of these days.
__________________Pushing past 3.0 has proven to be a challenge though. Anything over 3 fails orthos in about 4 minutes. I can get a stable boot w/ 15.5 multi for 3.1 but orthos fails in 4 secs. I'm considering lapping the heat sink to hopefully shave a few degrees off the temp so maybe the voltage will be more consistent. Anyway, thanks for the replies. Hopefully more OC'ing to come.

I lapped my 5000+ Blackie and my Heatsink....And It really Helped me out alot....I was getting frustrated at 3.114ghz anything over and orthos and OCCT would fail...I tried everything.
All my temps should have been fine...but being a Brisbane who knows what was really going on. Anyways Lapping dropped my temps and I am running at 3280mhz or something like that.... So in My case it was the Temps. Good luck

Good to see I might be on the right track. I just think between the temps going up causing more resistance in the circuitry and the increased strain on the voltage from the OC'd cpu the voltage is becoming to inconsistent for the cpu to function properly. I feel like 3-4 degrees could make all the difference in the world. Only time will tell though.
