Default Please compare X3 8450 vs 5400+ and 5600+

friends. i would like to upgrade my cpu
which is better out of these three?

high end x2 or low end x3

From the reviews I've been seeing lately, those tri-core phenoms offer some serious performance.

Depends what your doing really... gaming stick with the faster dual, if you want a overall faster desktop/application experience go with the tri-core.

Also there's this black edition tri core that doesn't cost that much over the 8450:

with a decent cooler people overclock it to 2.6ghz+
its comes with no hsf btw, but you should be able to use your old hsf.

With what chipset though? SB750, I want my Dad to put one of these in his new build.

I've heard so much talk about the SB750, but I have yet to see any results that back up the rumors.


I know some guy in another thread couldn't get his 9950BE over 2.8GHz on the SB750.



Has anybody seen any reviews on this chipset yet?
