Never heard of that cooler, but just stay below 55c. 50c is usually best though.

It should be a decent cooler... while its not one of the "big name" coolers, it does have some of the things that you should look for in a cooler (mostly it has heatpipes.. if you dont know much about them, I would suggest the link in my sig, where I tried to explain them simply), so it should definitely be better than the stock unit.

Just make sure that you install it correctly, and use the right amount of thermal paste and you should be good to go.

Oh and alwaysAMD is right, 55c is the highest you should let it go under load, but most people feel comfortable under 50c.
Good luck

I'm at 3.31GHz stable on my (Windsor) 5600+ @ 1.52v. And on the AC Freezer 64 Pro, I idle around 28c - 30c. And no matter what, the full load temp never reaches above 50c, ever. So, if I were you I'd drop that Gigabyte cooler and opt for the AC Freezer (or Xigmatek Rifle) instead, if you want to see the temps I mentioned. Adequate case ventillation/airflow makes a big difference too.

Ok now I'm really scared, Brand new x5400 BE, xig 1283 wit as5 just installed yesterday, no OC, fan is at 1000 RPM and idle is about 58 degrees celsius. Should I kick up my fan speed or is something wrong here.

I would try reseating the HS... because those temps are dang high for that cooler, something almost has to be wrong.

Also, what did you use to check the temps?

Turn off PWN fan control and run the fan 100% constant.

kingofdacourt93.... you may want to pay special attention to the TIM application with that HS.... I have an OCZ Vendetta (same type of base on the heatsink), and the extra gaps along the direct heatpipes might need just a touch more TIM to fill them in.
