It's not AMD's time to do a home run yet. I'm fanatically hoping this chip would do well, but we all know that it's not going to be the new chip to get. They're still preaching to the (AMD-distraught) choir here.

But maybe, just a little maybe, that Intel has gone all arrogant and indirectly made the Denebs a good buy to a lot of people...


Bulldozer and 32nm (High-K) is where it's at. You'd be sure that AMD would be pursuing single threaded performance instead of SMT (they have no resources to do Hyperthreading and such, so they have to keep up on single thread performance, and add cores) so we might still see good development in overall performance.
