Jeez mate chill a little. Don't get all defensive. There is no way however, that the 8750 can hope to compete with the E8400 which is part of a range reknowned for having the best gaming performance.

What's your point? I already said it is. CPU score is not a good indication of gaming performance. I expect that's just the extra core talking.

how would your cpu compare to an E8400 clocked to 4.1GHZ? That way both chips are at their max overclocks and are around the same price. Will the tricore 8750 beat an E8400 at 4ghz?

At 3.6Ghz, the E8400 will run much cooler and absolutely blitz the 8750 sorry.

i have Q6600 oced 3.6 and E8400 oced 4.0,.. 3dmark06 cpu score for my quad is ~twice the E8400, but SM 2.0 and SM 3.0 score, my quad is fall behind.. so, gaming performance will be better with my E8400.. thats only my experience, still,.. love my quad

Hey scores are great and when you get down to it scores mean nothing, its how they perform in a game and once you get to 1920x1200 the cpu is pretty much out of the equation, it mainly falls on the gpu

Nice overclock
As you just proved, dual core at a higher clock speed > quad core for all current games Found this out as well having had 30 or so dual and quad cores.
