Default 9950 be

I am currently using the 9950 BE 125W version, the rest of the specs are below.
I just recently started overclocking it, the FSB is currently at 230, giving me a clock of 2.990MHz, basically 3GHz.. It has helped my FPS A LOT, 20FPS gain in Crysis Warhead and 40FPS gain in COD4. I am still at stock voltages, and perfectly stable running CPU at 100% usage for 10 minutes. I want to push it further, I am a noob to overclocking so can anyone help? I've tried raising my voltages when I'm at 240 (where I become unstable) and it doesn't seem to help. I'm a littler worried about raising my voltages because I don't know how much to raise it by, so I just went up one in my BIOS, I was able to boot into Vista this time, but still crashed. So currently I'm running stock voltages and a FSB of 230.

i'm running mine at 3.25GHz @ 1.475v... but my board has ACC, does yours? if so, mine is set to AUTO, you might try that.

you may have to raise the voltage even more, just watch the temps... if they start to rise over 60°C, shut it down.

Well my temps are currently at 25C at idle, 30C load, so I think I can push this a ways, and, whats ACC? Yes it is on auto, currently.

ACC stand for Advanced Clock Calibration. AMD has never given any specific details on how it works, but somehow it lets the SB connect to the CPU directly allowing for higher stable clocks. trust me, everyone is just as baffled by it.

what's your voltage at? i would definitely bump it up to 1.45v+

CPU-Z is telling me its at 1.250v

I'll try bumping it up tonight when I'm not busy.

You should change the multiplier, see how that helps. That's the easiest way to overclock this thing. You may have hit the FSB limit on your mobo (not sure).

I have 3,2 Ghz at 1,425 v stable . But i can't do anything better because my PSU wont let it too much blue screens %$%@# 550 watt PSU

I have 45 degrees with that voltage with Zalman 9700. Load 55 degrees. Higher than 63 degrees is not good, it's safe max is 63 most ppl say 55 is safe max but AMD saying iit's 63 so i will listen to that. Multiplier is a easy way but i like to do it with both, multiplier & HT clock. You just have to figure out what is your max. But that blue screens can also cause that you're memory is clocked to high. You don;t have that problem when you change the multiplier.

Alright, I couldn't get above 3.12GHz and I had to raise the voltage just to get that... is it worth the extra .12GHz? It raised my temps a lot, I'm hitting 50C on max load, voltage for CPU is at 1.360v and FSB of 240.

Did you overclock using the multiplier or the FSB?
