Default OC'ing 5600, computer hangs/no post on reset... y?

the setup, is listed below.

k9a2 cf-f
x2 5600+
a-data ADQVE1A16K 2x1gb(5-5-5-18, 1.8v)

while overclocking, the computer runs fine at 3.1ghz@1.39v. the only problem is that if i oc just about any amount, on a reset out of the bios, the computer fans work, but then you can hear them slowing down, but never completely stop. kinda like they were revved up when it resets, and then slowly comes down to an idle speed. the screen stays blank, and the only thing i can do is hit the reset button... then it usually starts up fine.

while oc'ing, i bring down the ht multi to keep it close to 1000mhz, i also bump the voltage of the nb and ram. what else could be causing it?

it's probably that ram, i would take the timings up one increment and lower the ram speed to see if that is the issue. also the fans slowing could be a fan control feature on the board turning back on (if you had it off) when the safe mode for the mobo kicks in. i know if i push my setup a little too far it goes back to cmos default, turning the Q-fan back on. check your timings and see if raising them will help. also is that 5600 a brisbane or a windsor?? the windsors will not oc well at all

mine is a windsor =(

and about the timing, what should i change it to? im still new to ram timing.

could the cpu be alot of the problem? and another thing i noticed. when i was upping the ram voltage, the computer would bsod during boot-up if it was 2v or higher. at 1.9v, it loads ok.

is that a ram issue, or could it be that my mobo doesnt over volt well?
