Yeah, I'd recommend doing a RAID0 before a single raptor. But the phenom gets my vote.

phenom II for sure.

raptor will only be beneficial with loading times and file buffering/accessing. but it won't affect gameplay performance, or general application performance especially when it's multi-threaded
