First off, I'd reseat your heatsink and apply a very thin layer of TIM. Too much can actually raise temps.

If that doesn't work, I'd get a new cpu heatsink.

I have my phenom 9950 running at 3.0 at stock volts. I had it running at 3.2ghz at 1.35v and it wasn't stable. You might have to go for 1.4v. Before you do that, I'd do some of the steps I've layed out above.

my idle is about 50C and Ive peaked at 86C with the system shutting itself down lol

Well I have the Sythe (or w.e) Ninja Mini cpu cooler so i'm not running off of stock, although this is the temp I got with the stock at 2.5 so maybe it's better? :P

yeah 62 is max but as everyone will likely tell you 55c is what you shoud stay at, just to be safe an leave a safe zone.

Never said that. I shouted to make sure he saw it. Some may take the 70 degree to heart. Don't get your shorts in bundle..It's no biggie.

I wouldn't let temps go over 55 degrees to be on the "safe" side on OCCT. 1 Hr. is not a true stress test. Minimum 4-8 hour is. I always do an 8 hour overnight. I have had ir not pass after 2 hours 39 minutes 1 time.
