You could make a cheap AMD build like a 7750BE + a 780G with onboard graphics, would be really cheap. So it depends how cheap you want to go.
dont really need onboard graphics, but just had a look at that cpu an its looking good, what do you think about this deal how well does that cpu perform ? also is it a good overclocker ? as i will likely oc it a bit for her. now a dvd burner psu an hdd, hmm am i forgetting anything ?

That looks like a good combo, it's pretty much what I meant. However it's Micro-ATX and I never worked with a Sapphire mobo before so I don't know how well it can overclock. It also has a Ati 3100 onboard, but you could also buy a dedicated graphics card and turn it off.

i will be giving her my 8800. also not sure about micro atx, is their a differance apart from size ? an my mobo now is sapphire an it seems a decent overclocker despite what i read about it not even getting past 220 ref clock, i got it to 250MHz not a problem (an that was only after a quick play around with it im still not finished oc'ing it just not had the time). an that cpu is a BE so ref clock wont be a problem, if that cpu is a good overclocker i will just do a slight bump to 3GHz, that will be more than enough speed for her i should think.

I use to play cod4 with decent FPS with a 4400+ (stock) and an 8800GT. So if your really tight budgeted a 4400+ will work.

Yeah Micro-ATX is smaller, but usually not as good overclockers as regular ATX boards.

And you are right, it's a BE so it can probably overclock with relative ease.

Yeah budget is quite tight as a 4890 is on the list for myself too lol hence why she gets my 8800 but really would not like to get her an old x2, ive had a few of them myself an had nothing but a nightmare with them from some failing for no reason an not to mention overclocking them (although a nightmare but plenty of fun too getting the damn things stable ^^). but ive only ever had AMD so i stuck with them an now have been rewarded with the awesomeness of phenom II

i think im gonna get that 7750BE

hmm ok so i think i will look for a non micro atx board but then again it might be worth the gamble with a smaller case, a small case would be ideal for her.

Yeah the 7750BE is great bang for buck, and the unlocked multiplier will make it easier to OC even on boards that don't OC so well.
