man, this is so wierd. i just tuned down the voltage from 1.45 to 1.4 and i'm surprised it's still stable. but i'm still getting the same load temps though. my idle increased from 45c to 40-42ish though
but i really think there's something wrong with my sensors. i'll get a better tim and fan and see if it helps.

i was searching for this and came out with these:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/25...m-temps-matter http://www.computerforum.com/151107-...40-temp-t.html faulty sensor as expected, and i just confirmed it when i touched the hsf at 55c load and it's not that hot at all. i still don't know how to remedy it though ![]() i swear i could get near 4.0 stable if it weren't for these. ![]() ideas, anyone?

What does the BIOS say for temps? Also, have you tried HW monitor?
If you know the BIOS temps you can get a rough estimate of the real load temps, which is why I am wondering. Good luck

![]() temps in bios are at 40c. sometimes i see 43c when i once tried 1.5v. my mobo has some sorta bug at bios that it only displays 40c, even if it's actually below that. it will only adjust when reached 41c and above. i'm using the latest bios though.

Sorry, sometimes I get busy...
Anyway, so you say that your BIOS temps never go below 40... what about on a cold boot? If it is 40c on a cold boot, then you know the BIOS is faulty as well. Have you tried going to an older BIOS yet? Its possible that this one just has a bug in it. In general you can assume that your temps in BIOS are about 60-80% of the loaded temps for your computer... but I don't think that is the case right now, because I think your BIOS is the fault for this right now. Because all of the other software is reporting the same thing, and I REALLY doubt that your computer is idling that high... it just makes no sense, especially with that low of a Vcore. Good luck

Do you possibly have access to an infrared temp sensor? If so, you could get some idea of if the temps are anywhere close to accurate. If not, it will be really hard to figure out what exactly the real temps are.
Also, a random thought, but I wonder if the die didn't make contact with the IHS correctly, and so the temps are "off". Meaning, the temps are recorded at the CPU, while the HS on top still feels cool, because the heat isn't being transferred away from the die to the HS... just a thought. Good luck, and sorry I couldn't help out more
