i'm really offended by your post

but oh well, if you insist

compare this:

and this:

those are the core temps. see the difference?

i'm too lazy to set my settings at stock and do a stress test with it. but i'm pretty damn sure it's just the same as the above temps. it's my temp1 that only makes the difference

i found out when i was stressing with prime 95 at 1.55 volts. i set my bios to give me a warning when my cpu reaches 60c. apparantly, my coretemps went as high as 68c, and after 10minutes, i soon heard my cmos speaker ringing when temp1 went 60c.

then i turned it off and the temps dropped right down to 45c in just 2 seconds while the coretemp is still at 65c. i did tried another run and my cpu just restart when temp1 reached 62c.

hope this helps for some folks out there.
Are you guys sure this is accurate? I feel nervous cranking up my 940 this much, but I did run a comparison between SpeedFan's Temp1, and CoreTemp, and it does make sense. I have it OC'ed to 3.60GHz right now. CoreTemp is displaying 67*C while SpeedFan Temp1 is showing ~50*C.

True, true. Well I did bring my Ph II to 3.60GHz last night, and let it fold overnight -Temp1 was only around ~55*. I went to check the temps this morning, and my monitor, keyboard and mouse were all unresponsive. I had to do a hard restart, and my rig wouldn't even get to BIOS. I wound up troubleshooting it, and was praying that I didn't fry the CPU or my mobo. **Luckily** it wound up only being a stick of RAM that had crapped out on me. It had me quite freaked out, but luckily my rig is back up again. It was the stick of RAM closest to the CPU, so I'm not sure if the extra heat is what killed it or not, or whether it was just a bizarre coincidence, but to be safe, my computer's now running @ 3.30GHz, and folding again. My memory isn't some crappy brand, either, it's OCZ's Platinum line, so I'm still confused about this, but weary now about cranking it up that much again.

the 940be's max temp is 62c, it shuts off when it goes above that.

well i wish i managed to took screenies of runs when my core temp was about 67c.
but right now, they don't even reach that high anymore.
