what was the 9550's clocks at?
im pretty sure they were below or around 3.0 ghz.. if you put the 940 at those speeds, you should get better temps

very strange when i went from a 9850 to a 940 my temps dropped about 10c what program are you using to monitor? the latest core temp works best i find

a 55c load isn't all that bad an what i would expect considering your location an a 3.6 overclock. Maybe your 9550 sensors were faulty?

Your heatsync is not set properly. You may have too much thermalpaste. I can run 53 degrees full load at 1.55V but I am watercooled. 1.4V I am 43 deg full load. thin coat of thermalpaste and artic silver5 is the best.

errr, i tried both few and plenty. there's no temp difference at all.
